Welcome to Club F.O.D Cymru. 

Club F.O.D Cymru is a registered charity in England and Wales (No. ​1211398) that was established to prevent and reduce social isolation for LGBT+ people - one of the only LGBT+ charities in the UK to do so. 

Club F.O.D Cymru was originally a branch of Club F.O.D which was initially established in Berkshire in 2019 and originally established to hold dedicated LGBT+ events and activities in areas where there were no pre-existing LGBT+ venues and it was during the COVID pandemic where we identified how social isolation within the LGBT+ community has historically been overlooked.  In September 2020 Club F.O.D registered with the charity commission and established branches.

Across the UK, many towns and cities do not have dedicated services, bars or clubs for the LGBT+ community to meet and socialise and unlike geographical isolation, social isolation experienced by LGBT+ members of society is less obvious and in many cases, is very often more challenging to escape. Sometimes isolation – and the loneliness it can lead to – can be the result of a sense of being separated from others due to society telling LGBT+ people that they are different.

In December 2023, Club F.O.D  established a local branch in Wales which staged the first ever Torfaen Pride in June 2024.  Its success has led us to establish a sister charity here in Wales with an application submitted to the Charity Commission in July 2024.  Club F.O.D Cymru was finally registered as a charity in December 2024.
